WOW: Trimming Oma

WOW=WIPs On Wednesday
I'm trimming my blocks to connect them to create my border for Oma's Blues. I'm finally a bit ahead of the BOM Schedule ( I need a drum roll I think), so this will be happening in Part 9 which is released Sept 15th.

What's Your WOW?

  1. have enjoyed watching your progress on this quilt! I recently finished one corner on the center block for the LE - I meant to highlight that photo on the thumb nails for the link today and hit the wrong one but the progress is on my blog

  2. It's good to be ahead. That's something I rarely manage with my projects.

  3. I need to get motivated and get things done! I was able to buy one of the cutting mats on a lazy susan from the members booth at our quilt show. I was in hopes someone would have the smaller rulers for sale, but no such luck there.

  5. I can't wait to see your Oma's Blues ready...
    My Oma's have to wait, first I must sew wedding gifts.

  6. Esther, I have a question about trimming blocks: after you trim do you reinforce the seam in any way? I've trimmed blocks before and they've started to come apart. Once I went around them with the sewing machine (but the edges stretched and I haven't done that again) and another time I used a needle and thread and overcast the seam a few times. I just wondering what real quilters to do (as opposed to me, the novice).

    Thanks!
